Overview
Hartford Hospital’s Hospital Medicine Unit is a comprehensive inpatient service with a mission of delivering outstanding inpatient care, while fostering academic advancement and professional growth for its clinicians.
The service leverages a team based model to serve over 300 patients per day across the hospital in a variety of inpatient care settings, including high acuity inpatient medical care, observation stays, and medicine consultation services. Our clinicians do not see outpatients and will instead communicate with outpatient primary care physician(s) throughout the patients’ hospital stays and at discharge to ensure collaboration in care.
The service is composed of over 70 outstanding board-certified internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, supported by an exceptional administrative team, and is continuously growing. Together, our clinicians are committed to providing round-the-clock high-quality inpatient medical care and education.
